The next event will be on Friday 28th September 10am-midday
Symphony Hall, Broad Street, Birmingham B1 2EA (map)
The team at Town Hall and Symphony Hall constantly look for new ways to connect people to music, especially through digital means, and working with Birmingham Social Media Cafe each month to bring many talented individuals from across the creative industries and beyond through the doors is an important part of that work. There is something very pleasing about a 177-year old concert hall hosting a meetup which explores the potential of social media!
We’re doubly delighted to be hosting BSMC’s fourth birthday at Town Hall’s sister venue Symphony Hall, which too celebrates a significant milestone this year – its 21st anniversary.
As one of the leading music and arts organisations in Birmingham and the UK, Town Hall and Symphony Hall have a responsibility to embrace digital in all its formats, from presenting world premieres of ground breaking audio-visual experiences to sharing what soup is on the menu in our cafes. So if you’ve read or heard about something you think we could be investigating, have an idea, want to ask a question or share an experience with us, please get in touch via: Facebook, twitter, email or visit our website.
We look forward to welcoming you to Symphony Hall Cafe Bar on the 28 September!
Many thanks to the Symphony Hall for sponsoring this months events and helping us celebrate our 4th Birthday in style at their wonderful venue.
As a special treat there will be the option of having a guided tour of the Symphony Hall at 11.30am. However, places will be limited to 20, so it will be on a first come, first served basis.
Birmingham Social Media Cafe is 4 years old this month! I hope you can join us!
Would you or your company like to sponsor a future Social Media Cafe event?
Sponsoring the Birmingham Social Media Cafe simply involves covering the cost of the coffees (up to £200).
Your name will be included in our communications for that month (email newsletter, twitter, facebook, blog and sponsorship page) and you will have a short slot at the event to introduce yourself and your organisation. To sponsor an event please email: firstname.lastname@example.org or tweet @birminghamsmc or @karenstrunks
Have you been before? If you’ve come along before then you’ll know that you’ll find a group of interesting people working in lots of different areas, all using (or looking to use) social media in what they do, whether that’s for promoting, collaborating or creating things online!
Are you new? If you’ve not come along before then you might like to know that it’s a very informal, friendly and chatty gathering – we try to make new folks feel as welcome as possible. Just come along, grab a drink and join the rest of us for a chat. If you don’t know anybody there, just come and say Hi to event organiser Karen Strunks who will introduce you to other attendees 🙂
You can also find the Birmingham Social Media Cafe on Twitter, and Facebook where you can connect with over 500 BSMC members. We also have a NEW flickr group. Please feel free to upload any social media cafe photos and use the tag of bsmc. If you are a twitter user, the hash tag is #bsmc. Spread the word and tell your friends! 🙂
